About the Artist:I grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. As a young child my weekends were spent traveling to art shows in a yellow VW bus, curtains and all. It was the seventies and my parents were hippies. They sold macrame and ceramics. So art has been a part of my life all of my life. I was a published poet in high school and spent many years writing after that. My gypsy spirit has taken me all over the United States. Having moved around for most of my life, I decided it was time to start planting roots. San Antonio TX ended up being my destined spot and I have been here 5 years. Since then, I've focused on visual art. With the encouragement of my dearest friend I started showing my art instead of throwing it away. Before I knew it people started taking interest and hence the birth of my website. My work is abstract. Creating is a basic need for me, like food and water. It keeps me grounded and sane. I use pastel chalk, for the most part but dabble in acrylics. I hope to someday transition into oils. My inspiration is drawn from emotion and music for the most part. I am an RN and currently working on my masters degree in nursing. I have an 9yr old son I call Igby. We spend a lot of time laughing. I have many many things to be thankfull for. This oportunity and your interest are included. So, thank you for stopping by, feel free to contact me with questions, comments or just to say hi. |
